Fast and Efficient DNA Extraction:
With the capacity to process up to 2×10⁸ yeast and fungal cells per sample, the gYeast MINI Genomic DNA Extraction Kit by IBI delivers an expectant DNA yield of up to 15µg. The streamlined protocol enables complete DNA isolation in 30 minutes or less, making it an excellent choice for high-throughput labs and researchers working under time-sensitive conditions. The flexible elution volume ranges from 50-100µl, allowing users to customize their workflow based on specific experimental needs. To ensure consistency and reproducibility, the kit undergoes rigorous lot-to-lot testing, guaranteeing high-quality DNA purification every time.
Superior Lysis and Purification:
One of the key features of the gYeast MINI Genomic DNA Extraction Kit is its highly efficient cell lysis system. The included sorbitol buffer, when combined with β-mercaptoethanol, zymolyase, or lyticase, effectively breaks down fungal cell walls composed of chitin and polysaccharides. This specialized buffer system ensures optimal lysis efficiency, leading to high-purity DNA suitable for downstream molecular applications. By utilizing a gentle precipitation-based approach, the DNA extraction kit preserves the integrity of the extracted DNA, making it ideal for sensitive genetic analyses.
Versatile Applications in DNA Extraction:
The versatility of the gYeast MINI Genomic DNA Extraction Kit makes it an invaluable tool for a broad range of fungal DNA extractions. Whether working with Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Candida, Aspergillus, or other fungal species, researchers can depend on this kit for consistent and high-quality genomic DNA yields. The reagent-based protocol can be scaled proportionally to accommodate larger yeast sample sizes, providing a convenient and adaptable solution for diverse laboratory needs.
Rigorous Quality Testing for Reliable Results:
To maintain the highest standards of quality, the gYeast MINI Genomic DNA Extraction Kit is subjected to rigorous validation testing. Each batch is evaluated using a standardized protocol in which Saccharomyces cerevisiae (2×10⁸) is harvested via centrifugation at 5,000 x g for 10 minutes. A 15µl aliquot of purified genomic DNA from a 100µl eluate is analyzed by electrophoresis on a 1% agarose gel, ensuring high DNA integrity and purity.
User-Friendly DNA Extraction Protocol:
This DNA extraction kit is designed with user convenience in mind, offering a fast and straightforward protocol that minimizes processing time without compromising DNA quality. Its reagent-based approach eliminates the need for cumbersome spin columns or extensive manual handling, making it an excellent choice for researchers looking to streamline their workflows. Additionally, free samples are available upon request, allowing scientists to evaluate the kit’s performance before committing to a full purchase.

Does this reagent kit isolate genomic, mitochondrial, and viral DNA simultaneously?Genomic is the most common and readily available DNA hence the name of the kit. However, the kit co-purifies the 3 types of DNA simultaneously. It is difficult to extract mitochondrial DNA so isolating all DNA initially is an acceptable procedure, followed by DNA separation using ultra-centrifuge Cs-Cl gradient if mtDNA is required. Normally only the gDNA and mtDNA in the Yeast cells can be simultaneously extracted using the gYeast Kit unless the yeast cells were infected by a virus, then virus DNA would also be extracted.
Which kit is better for fungi samples? The gYeast kit is the better option for fungi samples versus the gDNA plant kits or the gDNA tissue kit. The gYeast kit includes sorbitol buffer for better extraction.
