Efficient RNA Extraction from Blood and Cultured Cells
The Mini Total RNA Sample Kit by IBI for blood and cultured cells is expertly designed for the purification of total RNA from fresh whole human blood and cultured cells. This kit accommodates sample sizes ranging from 50-200µl whole human blood, up to 5×10^6 cultured mammalian cells, or 1×10^9 cultured bacterial cells. Using detergents and a chaotropic salt, the method effectively lyses cells and inactivates RNase. The RNA bound to the chaotropic salt is then captured by the glass fiber matrix of the spin column. After the wash step removes any contaminants, the purified RNA is eluted in RNase-Free water. The entire process can be completed in 30 minutes or less, with an elution volume of 50µl, yielding up to 5-30µg of high-quality RNA. Free samples of the kit are available upon request.
To ensure consistent performance, the quality of the Mini Total RNA Sample Kit is rigorously tested on a lot-to-lot basis by isolating total RNA from blood and cultured cell samples. The purified RNA is quantified using a spectrophotometer and checked by electrophoresis to verify its integrity and purity. This reliable kit provides researchers with high-quality RNA suitable for a range of downstream applications, including RT-PCR, Northern Blotting, Primer Extension, and cDNA library construction. By using the Mini Total RNA Sample Kit, researchers can achieve efficient and reliable RNA extraction, crucial for accurate and reproducible results in molecular biology studies.
