Efficient Maxi Kits for High-Quality Plasmid Purification
The Fast-Ion Maxi Kits are designed for the efficient purification of plasmid or cosmid DNA from bacterial cultures, utilizing pre-packed ion-exchange resin columns for reliable results. This kit employs a modified alkaline lysis method combined with RNase treatment to produce a cleared lysate with minimal genomic DNA and RNA contamination. Through a straightforward gravity-flow procedure, plasmid DNA binds to the column while contaminants are washed away with a specially formulated buffer. The purified DNA is then eluted using a high-salt buffer and precipitated with isopropanol, ensuring a clean, high-yield product in under two hours.
High-Performance Solutions for Plasmid Applications
Purified plasmid DNA from the Fast-Ion Maxi Kits is ideal for applications such as transfection, PCR, sequencing, and in-vitro transcription. Each lot undergoes rigorous quality testing by isolating plasmid DNA from 100 ml of E. coli cultures, with yields exceeding 400 µg per preparation. This ensures consistent, high-quality DNA with excellent performance in downstream applications. The kit supports both high-copy plasmids (100 ml cultures) and low-copy plasmids (250 ml cultures), delivering yields of 500 µg to 1 mg of DNA per prep. With its user-friendly operation and dependable results, the Maxi Kit is an essential tool for plasmid purification.

QIAGEN Plasmid Maxi Kit QIAGEN QIAfilter Plasmid Maxi Kit
Does this kit come with a plunger?
Our kit does not use a plunger. The Maxi Plasmid uses gravity flow to ensure no plugging will occur and preventing the loss of the sample.
How can I improve the yield from the plasmid kits, when I have low copied DNA?
To improve the DNA yield, increase the volume of bacterial culture to 5 ml, this should work.
What are the new starting volume & yields?
The protocol has been revised as such; the maxi plasmid kits yield up to 1.5 mg of transfection grade plasmid DNA from 400 ml of cultured bacterial cells.
